Adroit Modular Buildings have built a number of hotels, including two three-storey hotels and the innovative 'Floatel'. Prefabricated building modules can be supplied with fully-fitted bedrooms already installed and even incorporating en-suite facilities ready for connection on site.

Typically a single 12m module can contain up to two standard hotel bedrooms and en-suite facilities, on either side of a corridor, but larger rooms can be built using adjacent modules. Although Adroit Modular Buildings has built two 80 bed hotels, the company is particularly interested in building smaller hotels and motels. Preferably around 30-40 bedrooms, with associated reception and communal rooms, with a total floor area of up to 1,000sq m.

A wide variety of external finishes can be applied. In the case of one of the three-storey hotels a traditional 'wet brick' cladding was built after installation of the modules to give a totally conventional appearance, or they can be clad in brick or stone to match existing buildings. A similar 'traditional' appearance could be obtained using brick-slips. On the other hand, a much more 'avant grade' appearance was achieved using coloured aluminium cladding.

Pitched, mansard, or even barrel roofs can be added to modular buildings, just as they can be used on any conventional structure.
